Dr.Ms Padma Rani

Dr Padma Rani is currently Professor and Director at the Manipal Institute of communication, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal. As Co-coordinator of the Media Research Centre has conducted research studies for UNFPA, National commission for women, New Delhi. She is currently guiding several doctoral students in their research. Padma is Member of a various professional organization like the International Association of Media and Communication Research (IAMCR); International Sociological Association (ISA) Indian Sociological Association (ISA)and Indian Association for women studies. In 2013 she visited Germany on a Faculty exchange program funded by DAAD to University of Applied Sciences, Bremen. In 2016 was invited as an international visiting professor to the Technical University of Nuremberg, Germany. Before joining MIC in 2010 she was the Head of communication department at MOP Vaishnav College for Womwn,Chennai. She completed her Doctoral studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
